IBA’s Balkan Legal Forum | The Future of Law: Technology and Legal Services in South East Europe: 2018-2028

Kyriakides Georgopoulos Law Firm’s Head of Energy & Infrastructure practice, Gus J. Papamichalopoulos, participated as a speaker at the IBA’s Balkan Legal Forum in Vienna on June 14/15-2018, titled The Future of Law: Technology and Legal Services in South East Europe: 2018-2028. The forum was well attended by legal professionals from throughout the region and all members of SEE Legal Group participated.

This was the 10th edition of the BLF presented by the IBA European Regional Forum, the Legal Development Foundation and the IBA Law Firm Management Committee. The conference focused on the challenges and opportunities over the next 10 years and explored how law firms need to change to keep up with changing technologies, as well as clients’ expectations. In addition to that, the conference examined the impact of artificial intelligence on law firms and whether firms can be faster, lower-cost, lower-priced, and more profitable, all at the same time.

This was a great opportunity to network with fellow lawyers and business people, including interesting case studies and debates with thought leaders and experts in the region.

The panel which Gus joined discussed how Law Firms should “Keep Ahead of Clients” and the need to talk and listen to clients about technology and how to best develop the legal business in this new world.
