KG Law Firm participated in the 2nd SE Europe Regional Upstream Workshop: “Hydrocarbon Exploration and Production in the Adriatic, the Black Sea and the East Mediterranean” which took place on October 31st and November 1st 2013 in Athens under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy, Environment and Climate Change.
Gus J. Papamichalopoulos, KG’s named partner heading the Energy Infrastructure practice of our firm, was a featured speaker at the Opening Session, which took place on the first day of the Workshop.
The topic of his presentation was “The Upstream Oil Market in South East Europe”, a comparative review of the development of the upstream markets and legislative frameworks in several countries in the region (e.g. Albania, Croatia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece, Romania, etc.). The workshop was well attended by experts from the region and has attracted the attention of important regional companies active in the upstream business, as well as experts and academics.
Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, Mr. Yiannis Maniatis, referred to the momentum in which the upstream in Greece has reached and to the latest developments in relation to the open door tenders of the four (4) blocks.
