On June 19th, our Firm participated in the 35th World Forum of Mediation Centres in Athens, where our Partner Vicky Kriketou shared insights on the role of mediation in highly sensitive disputes.

Drawing on her experience in product liability disputes, she discussed how mediation can serve as a tool for managing not only monetary and reputational risks, but also precedent risk. In some product liability disputes, the wider impact of a published judgment may extend well beyond the facts of the individual case.

In her words: “A court may decide one incident. The market may hear one defect. That is precisely why not every dispute should become case law.”
