The recently published Joint Ministerial Decision (Π.Φ122.1/67996/Ζ2/2025 – GG 2985/B/17.06.2025) introduces a clear regulatory framework for University Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) engaging in private sector activities. According to the new rules, such services are allowed only under a valid license and must be provided independently, outside of any employment relationship.
Pharmaceutical companies, private clinics, laboratories, and other businesses must ensure that University HCPs hold the appropriate license before engaging them for consulting, educational, or similar services. Non-compliance may lead to contract termination and other penalties.
Importantly, University HCPs may still operate private practices or companies and provide services through them as independent professionals, in line with existing legislation.
