KG’s Data Protection and Privacy Practice contributed for the third consecutive year to the “DLA Piper GDPR fines and data breach survey” which covers key GDPR metrics across the European Economic Area (EEA) and the UK, with regard to infringements or breaches of the GDPR and to fines imposed. The survey found, among else, that this year’s enforcement actions largely targeted ad-tech and behavioural advertising.
As regards the Greek jurisdiction, the survey demonstrated that the country ranks 9th for the total value of GDPR fines imposed to date, whilst it continues to rank considerably low in terms of total number of data breaches notified and the number of breach notifications per 100,000 population.
