Konstantinos Vouterakos, partner and head of Finance & Banking practice participated as a panel speaker in the 3rd International Summit NPL Europe 2016 – Spring Conference organized by SmithNovak and held in London 9-10 March.
Konstantinos was sitting in the panel discussing “Economic Outlook and What’s Next for the European Market”. Konstantinos addressed questions regarding the new NPL legal framework which is under formation in Greece and the market stability.
The Conference attracted more than 250 participants mainly banks, servicers, funds, rating agencies, lawyers, advisors and other professional which are specialized in the NPL market across Europe. The various panels discussed the developments in Italy, Spain, Ireland, UK, Benelux and CEE and SEE regions. Break-out sessions covered also the various market segments such as corporate and SME loans, CRE, residentials.
With the entrance of China it is expected that the NPL market will retain a prominent position in the global economic arena for the next years to come while the Greek banks will move into a more active management of the problem in the effect to support the country’s much needed economic recovery. For the Greek market, the political and economic stability remains a key issue for investors.
