#KGLawFirm acted as Greek legal counsel to the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSF) in the disposal of its c.9% stake in the issuer ‘Alpha Services and Holdings S.A.’ to pan-European banking group UniCredit. The KG team assisted the HFSF in the structuring and compliance of the competitive auction process with the HFSF Law and the approved Divestment Strategy, the negotiations on the transaction documents with the buyer and in closing the transaction in a record time of less than three weeks following an unsolicited offer by UniCredit. This marks the second in a row and most significant so far in terms of value (c.€300 mio) and importance divestment project of the HFSF and as expected, it has attracted wide international attention. It is also a strong sign of confidence to the Greek systemic banking sector as now two major banks have returned to fully private status.

The KG team was led by Partners Konstantinos Vouterakos, Ioanna Antonopoulou and Apostolos Georgantas assisted by associates Marianna Katsifi and Athanasios Misirlis and other team members on specific matters of the project.
