Ioanna is the Head of the firm’s Employment Practice.

With more than 20 years of experience, Ioanna represents and guides leading foreign and Greek companies of various industries through the implementation of their HR strategic decisions, advising on all employment related issues from recruitment to termination. She has developed a strong expertise in complex restructuring projects, individual and collective redundancies, collective bargaining at all levels, industrial relations with unions and works councils, as well as Mediation & Arbitration. Ioanna also guides the firm’s clients on the implementation of innovative forms of employment within the Greek legal environment.

She is also an active litigator, representing companies in their employment and social security disputes (individual and collective) before the competent courts.

Important Highlights

  • Advised and represented a leading international packaging and paper manufacturer in the cessation of the production activities of its Greek plant.

  • Advised a world leading glass manufacturing company on a collective redundancies project.

  • Advised a leading medical device manufacturer on the implementation of the change of their business model in Greece, which entailed the cessation of the local company’s office and warehouse operations and the engagement of a Sales Agent, responsible for all product flow in Greece.

  • Acted as the Greek legal advisor of a leading multinational coffee company on all employment aspects of various complex transactions aiming to combine its business with another company’s portfolio in order to create a new company.

  • Advised a leading food manufacturing company on a project related to the change of the operating model of the manufacturing plant of the Greek affiliate, through the implementation of a 24/7 operating model for the plant.

  • Advised a leading multination company in the hygiene, health and nutrition sector, on a complex restructuring project, which involved the change of its organizational structure and employee redundancies.

  • Advised and represented an international organization in the negotiations for the conclusion of a company Collective Labor Agreement with the employees’ trade union.

  • Advised a leading multinational pharma company on the employment issues arising from the outsourcing of the distribution and promotion activities related to part of its portfolio to a distributor in Greece.

  • Conducted various workplace investigations following allegations of misconduct within the company (including discrimination, harassment and unfair practices).

  • Successfully represented various clients before the competent courts in collective employment litigation cases, related to collective redundancies of their personnel.
